Salt Lake is a hub for good restaurants and puzzling streets. Baker’s Nest is a comparatively new cafe cum restaurant which has gained popularity within a very small time. Located at EC block, Sector 1; this a small cafe cum restaurant made under the owners house, Mrs. Sanjukta Banik, a home baker who is the mastermind behind this beautiful junction of happiness.

The restaurant opened it gates on January 2018 and has been attracting customers all over Salt Lake and Kolkata. A magnificent cosy place which serves continental food and excellent baked items. The head chef and the owner, Mrs. Sanjukta is very much friendly in nature and loves to indulge with the customers. Mrs. Banik’s son , Soham also helps her in maintaining the overall restaurant.

Ambience and Decor

The entrance of the restaurant is just like small cafe we generally see in European countries, starting with a lawn and a wide wooden and glass door entrance. The ambience and the decor is beautiful and satisfying.

Decorated with beautiful wall clocks and painted with eye appealing colours , its a lovely atmosphere for couples and friends to enjoy and satisfy their hunger. The presentation of this place can grab anyone’s attention in the first look.

Bakery

The Baker’s Nest bakery boasts about their creamy and tasty pastries and colourful cupcakes. But apart from that, they serve beautiful brownies, muffins, cakes,all sorts of cookies and most importantly freshly baked homemade bread.

Also providing, customised cakes and wonderful sweet and savoury products during festivities and holidays such as Easter, Christmas and Mother’s Day etc.

Personal Favourite: Cupcakes and Walnut Brownies.

Food and Drinks

Apart from the beautiful bakery, the cafe serves excellent quality continental food and beverages. The menu has some of the most famous European dishes at a really comfortable price.

Apart from the usual tea and coffee,they serve refreshing mocktails and Milk shakes such as Mango Pineapple Fusion, Baker’s Nest special fusion, Oreo coffee creme and Almond Brownie shake.

Coming to food, they provide crunchy sandwiches, cheesy and creamy pasta, healthy salads and various veg and non veg main course dishes. Arguably, the most favourite dishes include Chicken Stroganoff, Stuffed Chicken drums, Fish Cantalloni and the Chef’s special platter.

They also serve a small yet sweet range of desserts including pancakes, mousse and two signature desserts , Monte Carlo and Baked Alaska.

Personal favourite: Stuffed Chicken Drums , Grilled Ham sandwiches, Caesar Salad, Baked Alaska, Brownie and Cold Coffee.

What’s on Sayan’s mind?

According to my personal review, the first time I visited this place was with my elder cousin. It was love at first sight because of its gorgeous and elegant ambience and decor. The food overall is really nice quality and quantity wise both. The restaurant maintains a very clean personal hygiene overall as well. A pocket pinch of Rs 700 is enough for two people. The restaurant is also available at food delivery platforms such as Swiggy , Zomato and Uber eats.

Amidst this pandemic, they have reopened recently and have taken quality measures for the staff and the food delivery delegates providing regular temperature control measures, sanitizing of the restaurant as well as the employees.
